SaaS Tools UK

Disclaimer

Last updated: July 2026

NOTICE: Everything on SaaS Tools UK — the calculators and the written guides alike — is published for general information and education only. It is not accounting, tax, financial, employment or legal advice, and it is not a substitute for professional advice about your own situation.

1. What this site is

SaaS Tools UK is a small independent site run by a software developer. It publishes two free browser-based calculators and a set of written guides on UK startup finance. It is not an accountancy practice, a firm of solicitors, a regulated financial adviser, or a tax agent, and nobody involved in it is acting in any of those capacities.

Reading this site, using the calculators, or acting on anything published here does not create a professional, advisory, client or fiduciary relationship of any kind.

2. The guides are general information, not advice

The guides on this site discuss UK tax rates and thresholds, employer obligations including National Insurance, workplace pensions and employers’ liability insurance, company structure, venture capital schemes, and statutory rights around late commercial payment. These topics are summarised in general terms.

General summaries cannot account for your circumstances. Eligibility rules, reliefs and exemptions frequently turn on specific facts — your company’s structure, its directors, its accounting period, group membership, the terms of contracts you have signed, and much else. A conclusion that is correct for one business can be wrong for another that looks similar.

Where a guide discusses legal rights or obligations, that discussion is not legal advice. Where it discusses tax, it is not tax advice. Please take advice from a qualified accountant, solicitor or other appropriate professional before acting.

3. Figures go out of date

This is the most important limitation on this site, so it is worth stating plainly. Tax rates, thresholds, allowances, statutory payments and the Bank of England base rate all change, sometimes at short notice and sometimes mid-year.

Every guide states the tax year its figures relate to and the month they were checked. Those figures were believed accurate at that point. They may not be accurate now, and there is no guarantee any page has been reviewed since the date shown on it. A page that was correct when written can become misleading purely through the passage of time.

The guides link to the relevant GOV.UK pages throughout. Those official sources are the authority, not this site. Please check the current position there before relying on any number published here.

4. Calculators produce estimates

The calculators apply straightforward arithmetic to the figures you enter. They do not validate your inputs, know anything about your business, or account for tax, VAT, seasonality, payment timing, contractual commitments or any other real-world complication.

Results are estimates only, and they are only as good as the numbers you put in. Actual cash position and runway routinely differ from a simple projection — late-paying customers, churn, rising costs and one-off bills all move the real figure. Treat the output as a rough guide for planning, never as a forecast to commit to.

5. Limitation of liability

This site and its contents are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, completeness, currency or fitness for a particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SaaS Tools UK and those who operate it accept no liability for any loss or damage — including lost profits, missed reliefs, tax liabilities, penalties, fines or other financial loss — arising from any use of, or reliance on, this site. You are responsible for decisions you take about your own business, and for verifying anything here before you act on it.

Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

6. External links and advertising

The guides link to GOV.UK and other external sources. Those links are provided for reference and convenience. We do not control external sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or availability, although GOV.UK pages are of course the definitive source on the matters they cover.

This site displays advertising, which helps keep it free to use. Adverts are served by third parties and their content is not chosen, reviewed or endorsed by us. The appearance of an advert is not a recommendation. Any dealings you have with an advertiser are entirely between you and them. See our privacy policy for how advertising cookies are handled.

7. Corrections

Accuracy matters, and mistakes are possible. If you spot an error, an out-of-date figure, or something misleading, please get in touch — corrections are welcome and will be made promptly.
